Japanese conglomerate is in line tobe Caldwell’es financial partner in acquiringv the 11,400-acre property consisting mostly of vacant land. The buyefr has been awarded a preliminary contract to purchased the landfor $90 million to $95 according to a sourcee inside the deal. Bridgeland is designed to include morethan 20,000 homes and 65,000 residents when the projecy site in Cypress is built out in 20 years. Bridgeland is beinyg sold by The Chicago-based owner of primaril y retail properties filed for bankruptcy protection from creditorain mid-April. Bridgeland is not includex in thebankruptcy proceeding.
The sale is on a broadefr scale than projected earlier this year when Genera Growth began marketingLakeland Village, the 2,370-acre first phasee of Bridgeland that is already home to hundreds of families. Half a mile away is Townee Lake, a 2,400-acre community slated for 3,000
