Manatee and Polk are among the 11 countiezs for which Crist is seekingfederall assistance. Manatee is one of nine countied that experienced flooding in recent weeks becausd of a series of storms that passed through Florida. Some areas of the state receivesd upward of 24 inches of rain overa 10-day periord through June 5, Crist said. Two other Polk and Marion, experienced eight weeks of droughtf between March 15 andMay 26, which is usuallg the minimum threshold to get a disasteer declaration.
